Department of Sociology and Anthropology

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the IU School of Liberal Arts in Indianapolis brings together two related, yet separate disciplines. While each studies human behavior and social structures, they offer different and overlapping perspectives that lead to insight and discovery about people and society.

The department's faculty are leading scholars and experts in their individual fields, from anthropology and bioarcheology to sociology and criminology. Through their expertise, the department offers engaging coursework, exciting field experiences, and research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.
