Global & International Studies at IU Indianapolis gives you a wide-ranging, interdisciplinary lens for understanding the complexities of global politics, economics, social movements, cultures, and environments. Growing quickly in popularity, the program brings together the social sciences and humanities to explore the pressing issues of the 21st century. You’ll look closely at how global problems shape local experiences, and how deeply interconnected nations, communities, and individuals have become. At its core, the program helps you build the knowledge and skills needed to navigate a world defined by constant change and increasing interdependence.
Here in Indiana, the state’s economic future is tied closely to global investment and the export of agricultural, life science, and automotive products. The “Crossroads of America” has become a major international freight hub, and communities across the state reflect ties to places around the world. At the same time, Hoosiers are working abroad as service members, Peace Corps volunteers, missionaries, and international business leaders.
